Jordan Kurland is a very significant name in the world of both art and music, being a co-founder of many things both musical and artistic.

Specifically, Jordan is a founding partner of Brilliant Corners Management, a music and management company situated in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.

He is also the co-founder of the Treasure Island Music Festival, an annual two-day music festival that occurs on the eponymous Treasure Island, California.

To top that off, Jordan is ALSO a partner in the independent music festival known as Noise Pop.

Jordan’s early beginnings and education originally weren’t towards an artistic slant, but rather a more serious pursuit. Jordan attended Pitzer College with the intent to study psychology with the intent of being a writer.

Along the line of such a pursuit, Jordan was introduced to the nuancés of the music business that he instead veered towards becoming a music journalist.

Shifting gears, Jordan started an internship with Seriously Digital Entertainment Inc., a move that nourished a love for the music industry that had started to blossom but a few years prior.

 After graduation, Jordan set out to gain experience, seek out connections, and get his foot in the door in the world of music. And he did just that.

Professional Jordan Kurland — His Work and Ambitions

Evidence of Jordan Kurland’s work and influence can be seen as early back as 1995 with his involvement in work with the David Lefkowitz/Figurehead Movement, where he helped notable figureheads such as The Melvins, Charlie Hunter, and Primus.

During this time in the mid-to-late 90s, Noise Pop was recently established (‘93) and has since been gaining momentum. In 1997, Jordan reached out to Noise Pop founder Kevin Arnold and offered to help him manage the festival.

From there, he and Arnold found and gave indie artists a platform to express their music and gain fame and recognition. Noise Pop itself has gone on to become a staple event in San Franciso, with individuals like Jordan Kurland being largely responsible for its success and acclaim.

Drawing on his education in music entertainment, Jordan became the co-founder of Brilliant Corners Artist Management, a management group dedicated to the development and creation of long-term careers for talented and aspiring artists. This is one of the many pursuits that Jordan can be found involved in today.
